በሕጉ መሠረት፣ የIRB ቢያንስ አምስት ንቁ የድምፅ መስጫ አባላት ሊኖሩት ይገባል። አባላት የተለያዩ ዘርፎችን እና አመለካከቶችን ይወክላሉ። አንዳንዶቹ ከ VDSS ውጭ ይመጣሉ።
At least two members must be “non-scientists” — people whose work is not in science or research. They may work in law, business, faith communities or advocacy. Their role is to bring community values and ethical perspectives to the process.
